SHI, London City Race, Swedish Middle Champs and a Golden Troll

The Irish senior squad were busy running in the UK and Sweden this weekend. In the SHI, Scotland took both relay titles on Saturday, ahead of England. Ireland’s best teams were 6th in the men’s and 7th in the women’s. Relay results. Scotland were again on top in M and W21 on Sunday, with wins for Doug Tullie and Claire Ward. Toni and Darren were the best of the Irish. In the overall team competition, it finished: Scotland 55, England 44, Wales 28, Ireland 22. Full results here and Routegadget here.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the UK, Susan Lambe finished 12th in the women’s elite class in the London City urban race. Results.

Further afield, Nicolas Simonin placed 7th in the B-final of the Swedish Champs middle distance. Results. GPS tracking from the A-final is available here. The relays were held the next day and he ran 3rd leg for IFK Lidingo’s third team – GPS tracking from the top teams here.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Neil Dobbs was awarded a Golden Troll award by USA orienteering. This award is presented to individuals who have provided exceptional service to orienteering. You can find more details of the award and Neil’s nomination here. Congrats!
