JWOC continues
Update from Jens Waechter at JWOC
Check out some great photos from JWOC
As there is severe heat in Portugal, mid to high 30s every day, the government has issued a red alert for forest fires. No forest activities were allowed, hence the JWOC organisation had to scramble to pull off a new event within 48 hours. First ever sprint relay. Aoife, Eoghan, Darragh and Cliodhna made up the team. Eoghan was sick with a tummy issue, so we had to change the order on short notice and Liam replaced Eoghan. Darragh felt sick this morning so we didn’t have a team. The remaining athletes did start none the less to take advantage of the event as training.
On a side note, I am taking part in the JWOC Tour. As the events have changed, my second sprint event was embargoed so as an official I wasn’t aloud to race. With today’s race however I was 4th overall in the ranking and may make the podium in the last race all going well on Friday
kindly
Jens
