Junior Fundraiser – Leinster Champs Weekend 8th April

Saturday pm 8th April (Saturday of the Leinster Champs) a Junior Squad fundraiser will be run in Massy’s Estate south Dublin. This will be a forest sprintISSOM map (probably 1:4000) event and will be Si-air enabled. This I believe will be the first IOA Si-air enabled event. Northern Ireland Orienteering Association are lending SIACs for the event so there’ll be enough to go around. Being one week before the JK which is SI-air enabled for all days, this will be great opportunity to try out this system. The usual punching will also work.

Setanta Orienteeers are covering all the costs (mainly permit and maps) for the event, so that ALL monies taken on day goes to junior squad. Please support this event if possible.

Planned start window 3-4pm
2 courses on offer planned by junior squad member Zoë Tyner
2.7km (shotest distance) 75m climb 22 controls
1.8km (shortest distance) 20m climb 18 controls
The shorter course is technically easier and is suitable for beginners.
SIAC contactless punching available, first IOA event to offer this and good practice for the JK the following week.

The finish is 70m downhill of the start so not to tire you for the Leinster Champs the following day! (any other day and there would have been a nice uphill finish!)

Event parking will be on forest road through the top of the Hellfire Carpark.
