Introduction to Orienteering, Kilkenny
Beginner level orienteering course – Highbank Orchards, Kilkenny, Introductory Day Sunday 29th September
The latest orienteering course in Kilkenny has been mapped by Pat Healy, Cartographer, in Highbank Farm, just in time for the Harvest Picnic on Sunday 29th of September. What makes the course in Highbank Farm so unique is that it traverses a working organic farm, taking you through cider orchards and oat fields, skirting lakes and reedbeds and allowing for lots of exploration in the native Irish hedgerows. Suitable footwear and clothing is a must to get the most out of this family centered orienteering trail.
Pat will be there on the day, Sunday 29th from 12 until 4pm, arrive betweeen 12 and 2pm. For those who have any interest in orienteering, this is a great opportunity to meet Pat, who has created this route and who is an experienced competitor in the orienteering National Championships. The route is particularly suitable for fun days outs with groups or beginner level orienteering.
