The chart below outlines the Orienteering Age Classes based on the competitor’s age.
Please note that these classifications are different from those used in Fell Running and various other sports.
When registering for orienteering events, the appropriate age class is indicated by a prefix of ‘M’ for male participants and ‘W’ for female participants.

*Use the age you will turn by the end of this calendar year when determining your age class.
Examples:
A girl who turns 13 in February falls into the same age category as someone whose 14th birthday is in December — both belong to class W14.
A man born in March 1960 is in the same age group as one born in November 1956 — both would compete in class M60.
