This page provides information on our National Governing Body & our supporting policies
Our volunteer led NGB is led and governed by our Board of Directors. The Board consists of our Chairperson, Director of Governance, Director of Finance, our Company Secretary and an Independent Director.
The Board is supported by our Technical Group who have responsibility for overseeing specific aspects of our sport. These include our Controller of Technical Standards, Education Officer, Mapping Officer, HP & Junior Squad Managers and our National Children’s Officer. Together with the Board, these two groups form our Management Group.
Our Operations Team provide support to our clubs and deliver programmes throughout Ireland through our clubs, or our partners in Local Sports Partnerships and other community groups.
Orienteering Ireland’s Executive Committee meet regularly to discuss matters of Orienteering in Ireland. The minutes of these meetings can be found here.

Orienteering Ireland’s 2024 AGM will take place on Sunday May 5thth at 5.30pm in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Co Roscommon after the IOC2024 Classic Event in Slieve Bawn.
This meeting will also serve as an Emergency General Meeting as we prepare to wind down our current “Type A” NGB organisation and prepare to move to a “Type B” governance model. More info on these can be found here.
Light refreshments (tea/coffee/sandwiches) will be available to those attending the AGM.
