Go All Out – inclusive outdoors week

Cara – Sport Inclusion Ireland held its inaugural Go all Out week last week and Orienteering Ireland was delighted to have been part of it.

We hosted a MapRun event at Mungret Inclusion Park in Limerick, in conjunction with Limerick Sports Partnership, where we welcomed participants from a variety of disability service providers.

Fingal Orienteering Club, in conjunction with Fingal County Council sport office, faciliated an event in Millennium Park that included MapRun, where some of the attending leaders also had the opportunity to lean basic orienteering skills.

SEVO, in conjunction with Waterford Sports Partnership, ran activities in the People’s Park and Dungarvan Town Park, for a range of participants from various disability service groups.

The aim of the Go All Out week was to create awareness among outdoor service providers and professionals, people with disabilities, their families/carers and disability services on the benefits of regular exercise, healthy lifestyles and opportunities to participate within the local community outdoors.

Go All Out also aimed to increase awareness and build the capacity of service providers in the
outdoors providing accessible and inclusive programmes within their local community.
