Post 3rd Dublin-By-Night, Crone Woods

Great Eastern Navigators are hosting the third ‘Dublin By Night’ event of 2019 in Crone Woods on Saturday 26th January. The event will start in the main forest car park, grid reference O 192 142.

Start times are between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

 

There will be two courses:

     Long: 4.2km, 140m climb, 17 controls;

     Short: 2.5km, 90m climb, 9 controls

 

Cost is €7 for IOA club members and €8 for guests. SportIdent card hire is €2 for those who need one.

 

When in forest the courses have been kept to parts which are mainly runnable. This area of the coniferous plantation has some steep ground and a few mountain bike tracks.

For insurance reasons, no competitors can be under 16 years old.

Huge thanks to Brenda & the GEN crew, but in particular Pat McC for resurrecting Crone woods. It was last used for the Leinster Champs in 2011 and the only white area (where the majority of courses were) was clear-felled about 5 years ago.
Pat really put a lot of effort into remapping the areas we ran through, with a wealth of features around controls 10 onwards on the Long course.

Really enjoyed it.
