The twelfth and final event in this years Leinster League will take place this coming Sunday (9th) on the Curragh in Co. Kildare

The event registration and parking is based at the DFTC Sports Grounds, with the start and finish close by. Start times from 11:00 to 13:00, with all course closing at 15:00.

The location is marked on the google maps link below:
https://goo.gl/maps/sCMJpRzpeyy

There\'s the full range of courses on offer - at the high end, they might seem a bit longer than usual, but the running is generally flat and good, and the distances reflect this.

Course Controls Length
Yellow 7 1.7 km
Orange 7 2.2 km
Red 11 3.9 km
Light Green 9 3.9 km
Green 14 6.1 km
Blue 20 8.5 km
Brown 26 11.9 km

Control descriptions are on the map for Yellow-Green, but there wasn\'t enough space on the Blue and Brown maps - they are available loose for every course anyways.

Entry fees are as follows:

* Child/Student/Unwaged/OAP €5 (€4 for CNOC members)
* Adult €8 (€7 for CNOC members)
* Family €20. (€15 for CNOC members)

If you need to hire an SI card, we also rent them for €2, to be returned at the finish. Lost cards cost €40 to replace!

If you\'re not a member of a club, and would like to join CNOC on the night, we\'re offering free membership for the first year (its only €7 a year per adult after that anyways - full rates on cnoc.ie)

If you are planning on bringing a group, it would be useful to contact us ahead of time, so we can ensure we print enough maps, etc.

In an effort to save on waste plastic, we\'d encourage everyone to bring their own cups for refreshments afterwards. We\'ll also accept plastic map bags back for future re-use.

Hope to see you there!

Results are now online at :  https://www.orienteering.ie/result2?oaction=moreResult&id=21918

Thanks to everyone for coming along - I hope you enjoyed it. If anyone has any feedback on the courses, please post here - I\'m relatively new to planning, and this was the first time I planned a Leinster League event. I\'m also not precious about the courses, so say what you like - all feedback is welcome.

Thanks for a nice course.
For me the change of map style to 2017 together with the long first leg (on Green) and unfamiliar start meant I had difficulty visualising the map. I know Green is TD5 and all maps will eventually be updated so no complaints!

Would be good also to get a reminder of the contour interval on the map.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for planning - I really, really enjoyed it.

You\'ve asked for feedback, so here goes! Bear in mind I printed my last set of maps at about 1:13:000, so take any feedback constructively and with pinches of salt...

I waddled around the Brown so:
- no 11 (221, \"thicket\" on the condes); could have done with a little angle thing to show which side. I guessed lucky that it was inside the main clump of gorse but others may not have guessed so lucky
- no. 1 to no. 2 (long leg). As discussed I went the long way around (while I got to read the course ahead I think I lost about 2-3 minutes). I think it would have been even more interesting to go start to no. 2? That said I was so asleep I went around the rugby pitch to no. 1 ...
- 21-22 was good, would love to know if anyone went straight (I didn\'t)

One thing which is really difficult but would be great to have for juniors/novices would be a legend, scale bar & contour interval (for me & Rory!). I know from (limited) experience that that\'s really tricky (need to be an OCAD Jedi), but thought I\'d throw it out there.

Some of the juniors asked why the unusual out of bounds markings on the golf course (ie the visible not-out-of-bounds sections)? Enlighten us if you can ...

Overall thanks a million for a great day out, great fun. I spent equal amounts of time looking at brown on the map as I did green.
