Final Details for the last event in the 2017 Leinster League on Sunday 10th December, Trooperstown Wood near Laragh, Co Wicklow.
Suitable for:
Experienced orienteers, beginners, adults, children (about 6 years ) and family groups. If you planning to bring a large group, please contact us at gen@orienteering.ie

If you’re new don’t mind the ‘League’ thing – you’re welcome to turn up without being in the League!
Start Times:
You can start any time between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm. Allow about 20-30 minutes to register first and walk to the start.
The start is about 500m walk from the car park but the final part up a steep incline. Allow about 15 minutes walk from the car park.
Courses:
Yellow 1.8km – suitable for parents with children, experienced juniors and novice/ramblers
Orange 2.6km – as per the Yellow but slightly trickier/longer
Red 3.9km – for runners/strong walkers who would like an introduction to navigation
Light Green 4.2 km – for experienced orienteers
Green 4.1km – for experienced orienteers
Blue 6.2km – for experienced orienteers
Brown 7.3km – for experienced orienteers

Cost:
€8 for adults ( €2 to hire the SI card if required), €5 for children, unwaged, 65 , €20 for family group.
The €2 for SI card hire is waived for GEN members. If you are not a member of any club then you can join GEN for free at the event. Please ask at registration for details.
There is no pre-entry for this event; just turn up and register on the day.
Directions:
From Dublin head south along the N11. Turn off the N11 at Kilmacanogue heading South following signs for Roundwood, Laragh & Glendalough along the R755.
After Roundwood you pass through Annamoe. 2.6km after Annamoe, you will see a Coillte sign for Trooperstown on your left (opposite the Trooperstown Lodge B&B). Turn in here. If you get to Laragh you have gone too far, turn back, and the turn is now on your right after 1.6km. When you turn off the R755, leave the Mountain Rescue building on your left and continue down a rough road until you get to the car park. Don’t go over the bridge, registration is in the car park before the bridge.

We are adjourning to the Coach House in Roundwood which does food (http://thecoachhouse.ie/food/) for the Leinster League prizegiving and a general festive catch-up and chat. All welcome, especially if you’re new!
