Results Now the important stuff. €661 was raised. Thanks to all who supported the event. Helpers, perhaps too many to name but here goes, Donal, Mick, Debbie, Mike, Mary, Clodagh, Eoghan, Ruth. Special shout to Sonja, who put out controls, stayed at registration throughout and collected controls and packed up. She will be going back to her native Switzerland in June, but she contributed a lot today, so if you see her at LOC tomorrow or IOC, be sure to thank her. Sincere apologies to anyone I haven\'t credited.
Sprint events often raise controversy and this was no exception and this could have been avoided had I been proactive in pointing out that the river was forbidden to cross. I\'ve had a full on couple weeks and it was inevitable that some issue will slip through and this was it. Those who owned up to crossing the river not using marked bridges have been disqualified but I can see from the splits that there were others. It was a fun event, I think all enjoyed Zoë\'s planning, it was a glorious day and we all had fun, but we can also use it to educate ourselves about some of the specifics of sprint maps in particular the forbidden to cross features.
If you are looking at the experienced course on route gadget, there was a map exchange at control 13 so we got away with routing the course back on itself.
And finally, I was wildly optimistic with 14 minutes, 15 minutes should have been achieveable though...Kev
