You are all very welcome to Fingal Orienteers Leinster League Event  Sunday 22 November at Carnawaddy Mountain in Co. Louth.   Carnawaddy mountain has been used for championship events to SHI standard  in the past.  Offering an open mountainside with path networks and intricate crag detail at the higher elevations, we think you will enjoy this day out.   Courses offered are yellow, red, orange, light green , green, blue and brown so there should be something for everyone ! Timing and scoring will be via SI. Competitors with personal SI cards are recommended to ensure their SI details are correct on the national database before coming along , and rental SI cards should be available on the day.    As this is largely open mountain in mid-winter there will likely be a requirement for Cagoules/rainjackets and whistles to be worn; this will be enforced at the start.  Parking will be available at THIS link https://www.google.ie/maps/dir//54.0671434,-6.280952/@54.0658586,-6.2835892,1327m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e0    Registration will be at this location , and the Start should be a  taped climb of approx 75m taking approx 10-15 mins walk.   There is no pre-entry although we ask that any large groups contact the Organiser in advance to ensure sufficient maps are available.

Signposting will be available from the M1 Dundalk North exit , thence via R173 to Jenkinstown/Bellurgan Service Station, then via signposted roads to Carnawaddy.  Parking will be tight so please obey volunteer parking marshals.  It is approximately 80 mins drive from Dublin

1. Control descriptions are not on the map for  LightGreen, Green, Blue, Brown courses but will be available in separate printed form.  Please bring a description holder if you have one.

Final Note : 
Today was cold and clear and hopefully will remain so tomorrow.  It is bitterly cold so cagoules will be required folks.   The ground is still quite damp and slippy in many places so take care. 

As it is getting dark so early we will be aiming to close the courses at 1430  so please factor that into your planning. 

A drive from Central Dublin today took 80 minutes .
