Her Outdoors week orienteering event, encouraging the participation of women in sport at Duncannon, County Wexford on 11th August with the starts between 6 and 7 p.m. All are welcome.
Start and Finish below the Lifeguard station on Duncannon beach. S 72974 08126
Parking is possible on the beach if the tide permits. Come early and have a swim. Shower and water available beside the toilets.
Toilets are adjacent to the Lifeguard station.
3 courses available: Long (5.5 km), Medium (4.5 km) and Short (2.5 km)
The long course has plenty of route choice and the medium is more suited to beginners and park runners as there is less route choice.
Courses not suitable for buggies due to soft nature of sand and possibly some steps (on longer courses)
The short course is family friendly (crosses no roads)
Duncannon was mapped in 2016 by Pat Healy and updated by Andrew Cox in 2022. Ths is the first time for an event on this map.
Sport Ident will be used. Si Cards available for rental.
There will be no entry fee for beginners but contributions towards map printing are welcome in the bucket provided
Pre-entry on the IOA website is essential to ensure maps are printed.
