Here is some more information about the Phoenix Park night event on 22nd January: Dublin by Night (DBN) event #2.
Pre-entry only, via the IOA Fixtures page here. Two courses, 7 km and 4 km. Under-16's allowed if accompanied by an adult. (Hopefully the adult will be able to keep up). Entries are open now and they will close just before midnight on Thursday 20th January. Please enter early if you can so we will know how many maps to print.
Current Covid regulations will apply. For this reason the traditional tea and biscuits etc inside won't feature this year. If you finish early enough you can pop in to the Hole in the Wall for refreshment. Pubs close at 8 pm.
The start and finish will be inside the Phoenix Park at the Hole in the Wall pub on Blackhorse Avenue. You can enter and leave the Park via the Cabra gate or the Ashtown gate or you can use the pedestrian gate beside the pub.
Public transport: Dublin Bus routes 37, 38, 39, 122 to stop no. 1662 Navan Road/Baggot Road junction and walk.
See location map here.
SportIdent timing with SIAC contactless punching except at Start and Finish. Premarked maps on waterproof paper. A4 1:10000 with control descriptions on the map.
Please be careful crossing the main road in the park: both courses will cross this road.
The next DBN event will be a week later (29th January) at St Patrick's College, Drumcondra. There's also orienteering at Donadea, Co. Kildare on Sunday 22nd.
