Setanta Orienteers will be running a local come-and-try-it event at Djouce Woods this coming Sunday 16th February. All welcome.
Start times are between 11am and 1pm with courses closing at 2:30pm.
The event will be in the main forest car park and will be signposted on the R755 leaving Kilmcanogue.

There will be four courses on offer as follows
Long 6.3km 270m climb
Medium 4.4km 200m climb
Short (tech) 2.0km 80m climb
Short (easy) 2.0km 50m climb

The map will be on waterproof A4 paper. The map scale is 1:10,000 with 5m contour intervals.
There are numerous mountainbike tracks and only the most obvious are mapped. Please be wary of mountainbikers and horses while competing.
Event entries are as follows
Adult €7 (€8 for non IOA member)
Junior/Full time student/OAP/Concession €5 (€6 for non IOA member)
Family (max two seniors) €18 (€20 for non IOA members)
Sportident timing will be used. Sportident cards can be hired for €2 at registration.
Please ask the organisers if you require any help or information.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Weather was quite kind. No rain and little wind in the woods. Thanks to all who came. There was plenty positive feedback.

super event today. 7-8-9 on the long gave food for thought (I think I picked wrong for each one!). Angus & Brian Rowe powered past me on the way to 14 which muddled my brain further!

forest & weather were glorious, on a break from Storm Dennis!!

would be great to see Routegadget if possible?

thanks Terry, Angus & SET folk.

Good event today, Djouce Woods is really nice, some very runnable forest. Glad it wasn\'t cancelled, this naming of storms seems to panic people
