With regret we have decided to postpone the orienteering event due to be held in Callan on Sunday 16th due to the weather uncertainty linked to storm Denis. The area used for the start is beside the Kings river and is prone to flooding. In addition the longer courses go through grassed areas that are already sodden. The rain forecast for Saturday night will make this situation worse.
We plan to host this event on March 8th. Further details to follow.
Thank you for your understanding. We cannot take risks with people travelling from a distance for the event.
I know the new date clashes with a Leinster league event. Apologies.

We received the above alert from the Callan Community group where the event was due to take place.
