| Summary | Largely runnable forest with a good network of paths and tracks. Feels like real forest and mountain terrain despite being close to the city. Parking may be in short supply as it is a popular area for walkers in the post-Covid lockdown era so come early to get a space in the car park and then in the overflow car park. There will be no toilets. |

In a change to the earlier information, we will now be using the Tibradden car park where ZipIt is, not the Cruagh car park. This will be a "score event" where you choose which controls to visit in the time allowed. You will get extra points for fancy dress. There will be two courses, Long (60 minutes) and Short (45 minutes). There will be 21 controls. On the Short course you can visit any controls in any order. On the Long course there will be two groups of controls, let's say it's 150 to 159 and 170 to 179, plus an extra transition control. You can start with any control but if you start on the 150's you will only score points for the 150 series until you visit the transition control, after which you will only score points for the 170 series. If your first control is one of the 170's, you will only score points for the 170 series controls until you visit the transition control, after which you will only score points for the 150's. So, as an example, where X is the transition control, if you go 153-156-159-170-158-X you will score no points for #170. It's not difficult to understand, maybe just to explain! On both courses there will be a 10-point penalty per minute or part minute for being over the time limit and a 10-point bonus if you are back early with all the controls. There will be entry on the day but please enter online beforehand if you can. Pre-entered competitors will be entered in a raffle for a box of chocolates and some other prizes. Entry on the day will be €8 for adults, €5 for everyone else. Note - start times 10.30 to 12.00, courses close 13.00 hrs. Pre-entry has been extended to December 23rd. It will be a big help to the organisers if you can pre-enter, plus you will be in the raffle for those chocolates! We will be using the Tibradden car park (see grid ref). The Eircode is D16 XY79.
