The event will again be in the Tibradden section of the forest because of parking restrictions.

Visit as many controls as you can in the time allowed. Two courses, Short (45 minutes) and Long (60 minutes). Start times 10.30 am to 12.00; courses close 13.00. You are advised to bring a watch so you know how long you have been out. The further-away controls will have a higher points value than the closer ones. On the Short course you can visit any control in any order; on the Long course there will be additional features which will be explained beforehand.

There will be bonus points for fancy dress (a Santa hat is not sufficient!) and we'll have the usual winter-warmer refreshments. There will be a judge at the start to decide if your outfit qualifies for extra points.

There will be some optional additional twists in the orienteering  for the more experienced competitors, so be prepared for some extra mental challenges.

Please pre-enter if you can, so that we get you into the results system. There will be entry on the day until all the maps are gone. Remember, the last start is at 12.00. All pre-entered competitors will go into a raffle for a box of chocolates, so sign up now!

Parking may be in short supply as it is a popular area for walkers in the post-Covid era so come early to get a space in the car park. There will be no toilets.

Safety notice: there are piles of recently felled logs in places in the forest - do not climb on them. The public roads to Glencullen and Rockbrook are out of bounds, but you will not need to cross any roads on the course.
