| Summary | Killiney hill is a beautiful combination of park and mature forest with views over the sea and Dublin. The terrain is steep in places and there are quite a few steps on some of the paths. |

Registration and start will be beside the playground. Killiney hill is very popular and the car park can become full very quickly so we would encourage people to car pool if possible. The best local road for parking is on Saval park Road directly opposite the main entrance to the hill. This road is quite wide and long and is possible to park along here without affecting residents. As always please make sure that no residents entrances are blocked and just allow an extra 5 to 10 minutes to get to the start. There will be 3 courses Short 1.5 K Medium 2.6 K Long 3.4 K We have shortened the courses as Killiney hill is quite steep and is quite a technical area and it is difficult to avoid more climbing than normal come and try it events and runners on the medium and long courses in particular will end running longer distances. The short course is aimed at beginners and although it is mostly buggy friendly it does include one short section of steps. The medium course will require at least some previous orienteering experience or least some map reading skills. The long course is aimed at experienced orienteers. All paths between controls have been mostly cleared of vegatation and we have tried to avoid the gorse but we would recomend full leg cover on both the medium and long courses.
