⚪White (TD1): 1.5 to 2 km - Aimed at families with young children, possibly suitable for off road buggies, bikes and off road wheelchairs - Note, The paths/Tracks of Hazelwood are flat compact gravel/earth but may be uneven or have water/mud in places.

Controls/checkpoints are reasonably close together, a control at each decision point to aid direction (e.g path junctions) all controls are on tracks and paths. No route choices.

🟡 Yellow (TD2): 2 to 2.5 km - Adult newcomers, children and families and those with some orienteering experience.

Controls/checkpoints are slightly further apart than a white course. There will be some decision points (e.g left or right at the path junction). Controls/checkpoints will be along or very near paths, fences, walls, streams (anything you can use to follow to get you there).

🟠 Orange (TD3): 3 to 4.5 km - Individuals and families with some orienteering experience, a reasonable level of fitness looking to challenge themselves.

Controls/checkpoints a less frequent, simple route choice, decision points and cutting corners. Controls/checkpoints will be along or near paths, fences, walls, streams, or on prominent features nearby. (e.g a Large tree)

We'll be using SI controls (bring your dibber, or you can borrow one on the day). We’ll also be gathering contact details to keep everyone updated on future Sligo orienteering activities, we’ve got one or two more similar events planned for the new year too!
