Summary Iconic headland in Bray - mixture of forest and open mountain with trails throughout.
Notes

Entry online only until Thursday 16th at midnight

There are 3 courses on offer:

Long (ca 5.7km, ca 210m climb, technically equivalent to Blue, experienced navigators only)

Medium (3km, 110m climb, technically equivalent to Green, experience recommended)

Short (1.5km, 60m climb, easy navigation (technically equivalent to Yellow), ideal for beginners & juniors)

The terrain is mixed open mountain, grazed moorland and forest with intricate trails. Bray Head is steep so the Long and Medium courses have significant climb. The Long course is physically rough (eg short gorse & rock) in parts.

The Short course doesn't however climb Bray Head so has significantly less climb and is nearly all on trails (although not suitable for buggies).

Additional Notes:
The Medium and Long course cross farm gates; please leave these closed behind you.
The area is popular with walkers with whom we are sharing space; please be courteous even if it means you've to slow down!
The short course is not buggy-friendly as it includes some steep descending steps.

Control Descriptions :

Control Descriptions will be printed on the map but they can also be downloaded from the following link https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApcJDgpqIfYPiZtCvNxQnf9ANUB9dg?e=x0gyxc

The event will be signposted from Bray South exit (Exit 7) on N11

Parking and registration will be at the front entrance to 'Presentation Catholic College Bray' on Putland Road (GPS: 53.194151, -6.102394 - see map on this page)  and can be accessed from Putland Road

We have had to make a last minute change to parking due to a building project on Newcourt  Road so this carpark can now be accessed only from  Putland Road. This will entail an extra 6/7 minute walk to the start

The college are kindly letting us park along this quiet private road, please be considerate and park along one side only.

Start and Finish are a 10 minute walk away.

Walk out of Bray Pres carpark, turn right and walk down Putland Road for 200 Metres and turn right onto Cuala Road

At the end of Cuala Road, turn right on to Newcourt road for 150 metres and turn left into lane way up unto Bray head

Start and Finish are at the top of this Laneway, about 100 metres

If you have your own SI you don't have to go to registration, just go straight to the start.

It is not recommended to use the public car park for Bray Head (which is at the sea ward end of Newcourt road and Raheen Park) as this can be extremely busy at weekends
