|Summary||Iconic headland in Bray - mixture of forest and open mountain with trails throughout.|
This year we are using the southern end of Bray head which is more open mountain as opposed to the forest on the northern end.
It is currently planned that parking will be a field off the R761 road between Bray and Greystones and will be clearly signed from the R761.
Heavy rain is forecast for Friday 30th Sept. Depending on the state of the field it is possible that we may have to change parking to Belmont which is located on the other side of the R761. The charge for parking here is 3 euros per car and will organise cars to ferry people to the start on Bray head. In either case the location of parking will be clearly signed on Sunday morning.
There are some parts of the long and medium course that traverse ankle length gorse so gaiters are strongly recommended as are proper O shoes. There is no gorse on the short course but there is one fence crossing where young children (under 8) may need some help or supervision.
Part of the area we are using including the parking field is on a working dairy farm (most of the area on Bray head itself is separated from the farm by a gated fence) so dog owners are required to be vigilant for any cattle with young calves.
There are 3 courses
Long 5.6k, 15 controls
Medium 4K, 12 controls
Short 1.8K, 10 controls
|Difficulty rating||6/10 Open mountain only, some paths|
