Darragh

Darragh Hoare of Bishopstown Orienteering Club (BOC)

What is your first Orienteering memory?

Running around Corkagh Park in Dublin with all my cousins back in 2013. We did an entry on the day course at the Leinster Inter-Club Championships.

What is your favourite terrain?

Definitely has to be open mountain, although I do like anything really technical.

What do you think is your best distance/discipline?

When everything goes right, long distance.

What was your favourite event so far?
Day 5 of The Lakes 5 days 2018 in Dale Park. Mainly because I had a really good run but also because the courses were short, steep and super technical which was really enjoyable.
What was your first event in the Green Jersey?

Last years (2018) Junior Home International in Scotland.

What do you like to eat pre race?

Usually I’ll have some cereal, toast and a banana a few hours before I run.

What is your favourite bit of O clothing?

My blue mesh Bryzos jersey which feels so nice to run in and keeps me cool on those hot days.
