This is a breakout thread from a junior zoom call workshop to detail what a winter physical (running) training should be and what the technical training can be for an Irish junior living in Ireland and who is interested in competing at the Junior World Orienteering Championships next year or at some stage in the future. It is intended for the MW16-20s juniors but welcome for MW14s too who want to get involved.

Presenters are Josh O’Sullivan Hourihan and David Healy.

This thread will be a forum or a place to ask follow up questions to Josh and David after the workshop up until the next time the workshop might be run (at the beginning of winter training for the 2023 season). Everything about running and orienteering can be questioned and discussed. This doesn't have to specifically be related to JWOC 2022 in Portugal; or it can be just that.

If you've any questions about running or orienteering this winter and next year just pop them in this thread here and ourselves and maybe any other trusted WOC orienteers could respond. Good luck to all who will up their training this winter for 2022!!

Here is another training resource which could be useful for O technique training ideas along with explanations for the aim/focus of the training.  - Category:Orienteering exercises - O-training.net
