Microsoft is screwing it's customers, Again!

The SPORTident driver that is used by the BSM download boxes will stop working on your Windows 11 computer at some random time in the future.

Anyone who manages/uses a club laptop must read the announcement that SPORTident made on Attackpoint.

Summary:
1. In order to use a BSM download box, you will have installed the SI driver at some time in the past.
2. Microsoft has introduced new rules about drivers and the SI driver does not comply.
3. SI & Microsoft should have been able to sort this out but, apparently not.
4. SI uses a converter chip by a company called Silicon Labs for its USB connection.
5. You will need to uninstall the SI driver and install the generic Silicon Labs driver instead.
6. The bad news is you will need to install the Silicon Labs once for each BSM box you connect to the laptop!!
7. Instructions at https://docs.sportident.com/products/stations/usb-driver-workaround

Enjoy,
Martin
