Thanks to Val Jones for inviting CorkO to host an event in the Leinster league. Thanks to all who travelled down the M8 to Ballydrehid. Off a very small sample of recent Leinster league events (in Ulster and Munster) I’m wondering where all the Leinster/Dublin orienteers have gone? I know fuel costs are going through the roof and the M50 is manic but the largest Orienteering population has always been in Leinster.

At yesterdays event there were 6 orienteers from Leinster clubs under the age of 50. 15 years ago there was a push to have a black course in the Leinster league, yesterday there was only one Leinster runner on the brown course (Congrats to Valdas who had the fastest time).

Looking at the results from the Castleblayney event there was a much larger attendance from LVO that the Leinster clubs combined.

Best regards to our Leinster Orienteering friends, we miss you and hope to see you at events soon.
