The World Anti Doping Agency (WADA), updates its prohibited list annually, taking effect on 1st January each year.
A major change for 2024 is the addition of Tramadol to its prohibited list in competition.
Tramadol is an opioid based pain killer, used to treat severe to moderate pain, and has been on WADA’s monitoring programme. Data gathered through that programme has indicated significant use in sports.
Athletes are responsible for everything they consume but it is important for our high performamnce athletes at junior, senior and masters level to note this significant change.
