Sport Ireland have confirmed to us that Orienteering competitions can return from June 7th.

Needless to say there are some protocols, similar to what was in place last summer.

Before June Competitions can proceed, the IOA must submit a list of events to Sport Ireland along with Covid Event Guidelines and Code of Conduct, once we have approval from Sport Ireland, then June Competitions can go ahead. Note that trainings can continue.

We are updating the Event Guidelines and Participant Code of Conduct at the moment, but in summary.

1. Pre-registration of all participants

2. Limit of 100 competitors, officials etc for the moment but this can be increased if needed.

3. 2 meter distancing in place

%0D%0A

4. No crowding at Assembly, Start and Download.

5. People arrive ready to take part and leave immediately afterwards

6. Each club will have a Covid Officer to ensure compliance of events.

7. The IOA has responsibility to ensure compliance of all IOA clubs

The above list is an outline to allow you to begin preparation for events from June 7th.

It is important that each club get its June events on the Fixtures list ASAP so we can submit the list to Sport Ireland.
