                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Rest In Peace Fred Calnan - a founding member of Cork Orienteering Club who passed away suddenly last Thursday at the great age of 98.</p>
<p>Fred along with his wife Pat &amp;<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>their family were stalwarts of the Cork Orienteering community assisting with the organising of numerous events in the 80’s &amp; 90’s - from local events to Irish Championships &amp; many of the Shamrock O-Ringens.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Their enthusiasm for the sport<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>encouraged many beginners &amp; families to commit to the fledgling sport of Orienteering at the time.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span></p>
<p>Fred continued to orienteer &amp; cycle right up to his early 90’s !<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p>Our sincere condolences to his wife Pat and all the family.</p>
