It is with deep regret that we share the very sad news of the sudden death of our dear friend Dave Richardson. Dave, who was known to many, was a keen and passionate orienteer who died while controlling for the Irish classic distance championships.

The orienteering community wish to extend their deepest sympathies to his wife Anyta, their family, club mates, and friends at this difficult time.

Information about Dave’s funeral arrangements can be found here.

I'm so sorry for Anyta and the rest of Dave's family. He was always upbeat and affable. 4 of us travelled to the JK a few years back before they moved. Great company, always with a smile and kind word.

Shocked that he went so young, controlling a major event for our enjoyment. May he rest in peace.
