Claire Walsh has passed away after a long illness. She was always a pleasant but quiet presence at orienteering events she attended, modestly keeping her Olympic achievements to herself.

Claire was also the sister of Jean O'Neill and mother-in-law to Aonghus O'Cleirigh.
