This Sunday kerry orienteers are hosting a sprint-o event in Tralee town centre and park.

This is a brand new map with the park section originally drawn by Darren Bourke and the surrounding streets mapped by Paul Keville. This will be the first public event on this map. The town park is a small but detailed park and the surrounding streets are a good mix of pedestrian only streets and low traffic streets. The streets contain a good mix of buildings and laneways which should make for a good sprint event.

The short course is contained to the park and will not have competitors out onto the public roads so it will be an event for all including younger competitors. The long and medium will extend out onto the surrounding streets. Please note while every effort has been made to keep controls and competitors on pedestrian and low traffic streets there will be some streets to cross which will have traffic on them. Athletes are responsible for there own safety. Some streets have been marked out of bounds. Road shoes would be a better option for competitors.

The start and finish will be located beside the siamsa tire theatre on princes street theatre and there is a large public car park beside it.

Start times are between 11am-1pm.

The map is a scale of 1:2500 and contours 2.5m and is sprint standard.

Medium 2.1km 16 controls
Short 1.4km 12 controls

There will also be a prize giving for the winners of the kingdom league after the event.
