This sunday 19th may 2024 kerry orienteers are hoping for a massive turnout at ross island in killarney. This event is KerryO’s commitment to World Orienteering Week (WOW) 2024. It is the fourth event in the 2024 Kingdom League. There will be six courses catering for the full range of orienteering skills and experience. There will be buggy friendly accessible courses for beginners and challenging cross country courses for the more experienced orienteers.
The event is open to the public and new participants to the sport are welcomed.
We are hoping for all KerryO members; friends; members from other orienteering clubs; scouts; youth organisations; the defence forces and families and individuals to attend.
The woodlands are at their very best, super runnable and for the most part dry. This event will give a great start to World Orienteering Week (WOW). It also doubled up as part of our Kingdom League and we’ll be expecting orienteers from Bishopstown Orienteering Club and from CorkO as Ross Island is scheduled as event number 3 in the newly promoted South West League. We are hoping for a great turnout so encourage your family and friends to come along, as there will be suitable courses for all age groups and abilities. See you there. 😃
