The 2023 3ROC Phoenix Park evening series starts on Tuesday 8th August at the Papal Cross car park. The format for all three events will be similar, with three courses of about 2, 4 and 6 km. Start times are 6 to 7 pm. Entries will be taken online and also on the evening of the event. If you can, please enter online HERE as it will speed up the registration process for everyone. There is a €1 discount for individual entries for online entry. Online entries close on Sunday night.

You can get to the Phoenix Park using public transport: LUAS red line to Heuston Station; Dublin Bus services to Islandbridge, Chapelizod Road, North Circular Road or Blackhorse Avenue. All of these involve a walk to the event. Motorists, there is now a 30 km/h speed limit in the Park and some of the roads and gates are one-way: "In-only" at the Chapelizod gate and "out-only" at Islandbridge.

See location map here.

There are portable toilets at the Papal Cross car park.

Tuesday 15th August will start near the Magazine Fort inside the Islandbridge gate and Tuesday 22nd August will start at the Knockmaroon gate in the NW part of the Park.

The results and Routegadget for the first two Phoenix Park events (8th and 15th August) are now on the Orienteering Ireland results page here.

You will notice that there are two Long course variants in the 2nd event, AB and BA. The courses were identical except for the sequence of controls in a butterfly loop from control 189.

Apologies for the steep descent into nettles and brambles for the controls at the Magazine Fort on the Long and Medium courses.

Next Tuesday we will be at the Furry Glen/Knockmaroon Gate, starting from 6 to 7 pm, courses close at 8 as it will be getting dark. Pre-entry at the early-bird rate until Sunday night, and entry on the day on Tuesday.

The results and Routegadet for the final Phoenix Park event are now available here. We hope you enjoyed the three events. Thanks to the OPW for permission to run them.
