Thank you to all who turned out for tonights\'s opening round of the 3ROC Summer Series in the Phoenix Park; hope you all enjoyed your runs! Apologies to those who, because of an error on the IOA fixtures list, thought start times were only on offer between 6.30 and 7pm, despite it being quite clear on this forum as well as on the event flyer, FB, and Twitter that start times were on offer - as usual - from 6.30-7.30pm.
The same will go for next Tuesday\'s event from the Magazine Hill, although it may be possible to let some of you away from about 6pm. So if you can come early, please do!
The final event of the 3ROC Phoenix Park summer evening series is on Tuesday 27th August at the Furry Glen. Start times are 6.30 to 7.30 pm. The Furry Glen is in the north west corner of the Park, at the top of Knockmaroon Hill, Chapelizod.
At the first event we had two courses, at the second we had three courses, so this week we\'ll continue the trend and have four courses! Course lengths are Short 2.3 km/8 controls, Medium 3.2 km/12 controls, Long 5.0 km/17 controls and Xtra Long 6.8 km/17 controls.
There are areas of nettles in some of the woodland in the Park so long trousers are strongly advised for all but the Short course. There are also deer in the Park so read the warning about ticks and Lyme Disease on the IOA Facebook page here. Here\'s some more information.
Location map: see here
All welcome!

The results and Routegadget are now up on the IOA website here. If you have a GPS track of your run, or if you can trace it using a mouse, please take a minute to upload it. Sorry to any early finishers who lost time over the slightly misplaced control 166 coming to the finish. Thanks to everyone for coming (particularly to the juniors from Donore Harriers and Celbridge AC) and to all the helpers yesterday evening.
Sorry also about the areas of nettles, but if you read the information in the previous post above you would have been prepared!
The Fingal series of scatter events continues on Sunday 1st September at Santry Demesne.
The next Leinster League event is at Three Rock Wood, Ticknock, on 22nd September. Details will be on the 3ROC website here closer to the event.
