This Sunday 17th November kerry orienteers are hosting the 8th and final event in the Kingdom league at upper torc in killarney. There will be 6 courses catering for all ages and abilities. This event is open to the public and new participants are very welcome.
The upper torc is kerry-o second event contributing to the South west league.
The complete Muckross map has now been remapped with Upper Torc being the final stage of it. The up-to-date map allows for more technical navigation so the courses from Light Green on will make very little use of the forest roads. The bracken has withered at this stage, but a lot of it is still standing, so these areas have been marked on the map as light undergrowth. A few areas on slopes have been marked with heavier undergrowth. Runnability within the bracken area is random depending on where deer have wandered. The network of small paths will result in faster running times.
