The next CorkO event will take place on Sunday December 17th at Kilworth Military Ranges

- - - - - -
The terrain is made up of exposed open moorland surrounding Kilworth army camp, interspersed with many networks of earthwalls, gullies & depressions.  The terrain ranges from sheep cropped pasture, rough open fields, gorse & tussocky moorland.  There are some wet areas of bog on some of the longer courses but  the going is still fast with good visibility.

B) Medium Long course - 7.5km - 15c
C) Medium course - 5.5km - 11c
D) Short course - 3.2km - 9c

Courses A / B / C will all have forking and a map flip during the course. This will be clear from the map and will ensure some fast “Head-to-Head” racing with quick response navigation.

Kilworth Ranges in mid December can be a very exposed location - depending on weather conditions on the day - the organisers may insist on wearing rain jacket/cagoule & headwear. Be prepared for all weather conditions.

This event takes place on a military training facility. Along with all the normal safety precautions extra care is necessary in this area. If during the course of your run you encounter any suspicious item – please do not pick it up. Report the details back to the registration and it will be dealt with accordingly.  CorkO are grateful to the Defence Forces & Ministry of Defence for allowing us permission to hold this event.

Hope you can join us on the day.

A pair of Asics black/green running shoes, size 5.5, were left in the carpark after Sundays event. If you are the owner and looking for them to be returned, contact me and we’ll sort something out.
