All courses will be consistent with OI guidelines for championship events and will be published 2-3 weeks prior to the event.  These guidelines (with indicative course lengths are available at  https://www.orienteering.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Guideline-1-C2-Long-Distance-or-Classic-Competitions-National-Regional-Major-Competitions.pdf&source=gmail&ust=1737887149375000&usg=AOvVaw1q6Q5UxlOfyvDte2VBPL_ V">Microsoft Word - OI Rules & Guidelines - Foot Orienteering - 4 April 2024 (pages 93/94).

@ajax1961 I expect to see provisional course details in the event info in advance of a rise in entry fees. For me it's little help to direct me to the guidelines. While it's a classed based event, many including myself and my son do run other classes and we base our decision on the provided courses details which detail length, climb, scale etc.

We know that provisional details are subject to change as a result of storm damage etc, but never the less I and many others would like to view them.

I have already entered and will email to request class change if needed.

Angus - course details are currently being finalised - there will be no issue with a change of age class after publication of course details in the event that you wish to switch.

Thanks for that re course details. Like Angus I too was in same headspace re choice of course and equally "get" that there may be a degree of dynamic planning (not pricing!) arising here due the recent storm damage, as well as the significant undertaking in getting this event up and running by a small core team of volunteers (big thank you, in advance, to everyone). Kind regards John
