Leinster League- Trooperstown Forest Sunday 27th Nov 2022

GEN orienteering club have a treat in store for you this Sunday 27th November for the penultimate Leinster League event. It takes place in Trooperstown forest near Laragh,  Co. Wicklow with courses planned and controlled by Jonathan Quinn and Mary Healy respectively. The area is mature runnable forest with paths which is perfect for juniors and beginners. Organisers have been kindly allowed to access private oak and beech forest which looks really autumnal at this time of year! Some courses include open mountainside.
 
Parking and registration are in Trooperstown Forest on the R755 Annamoe / Laragh Road, grid reference T 155 972.
 
There are two starts approximately 300-400m from parking at Trooperstown main car park. One start for Red, Orange and Yellow courses and the other start for all other courses.

Please note:-

The Brown and Blue courses have a map flip after approximately 70-75% of the course.
The courses are not buggy friendly.
 
Loose control descriptions will be provided. Orange and Yellow will have text descriptions, Red will have both text and symbol descriptions and all other courses will have symbols descriptions. Descriptions are also provided on all maps.
 
Please enter online via Orienteering Ireland's online entry system.  Deadline for entries is 23:00 pm on Friday 25th November. A very small number of entries on the day can be facilitated, but with an additional cost of €2 and we cannot guarantee map availability if you turn up on the day.
 
Courses will close at 15:00pm 
SportIdent will be used but controls will not be SI Air enabled. Results will be posted on orienteering.ie after the event.
 

GEN Orienteering club are grateful to Coillte  and landowner for permission to hold this event.

Important: Orienteering is an adventure sport. You take part at your own risk and you are responsible for your own safety. You must report to the finish even if you do not get all the controls.

There will be a fundraising Xmas card sale at the registration / download desk in aid of the the junior squad. The cards have an orienteering theme and have been designed by junior squad members. They will be on sale for 10 euro a pack.
