There are arguments for and against Short Green.
It is relatively easy to add it using mostly existing controls.
On the other hand if the Light Green is to the correct standard in most areas there wouldn't be much technical difference. The physicality of the area for the likely participants also needs to be considered.
I agree with Stuart that we could do with more 3 course events in South Dublin areas like Carrickgollogan, 3 Rock, Pine Forest, Hell Fire, Saggart where we would be more visible. Park events too. Two league events a year are not absolutely needed if a club doesn't have the resources. There are plenty of dates free in the calendar.
More worrying at the moment is the very low numbers on the Orange and Yellow courses.
Any more thoughts on this?

@vj I'd imagine yellow and orange are directly impacted by the location and event type? Beginners and families are less likely to make a long trek into the middle of nowhere than they would for one of the visible areas you mentioned.
With the motorway network now, would a national approach to league events work with one league event per month and then weekly local events for the remainder?
