Three tough Leinster League events in a row, Featherbeds, Tyrella, and Balinagee yesterday which was the toughest. I did get some compliments on the technicality of the courses but in hindsight the courses were too long, apart from Yellow, Orange and Red. The "Superman" times on the Brown and Blue were over 80 minutes. I didn't realize how physical the ground was going to be, the recent rains probably contributed. My planning, particularly in the east section, was influenced by Slovenia/OO cup in the summer. But dry summer ground there in the summer is different to Wicklow in the winter. Thanks to everyone who came and well done to those that finished. All comments, good and bad, here or in private, will be appreciated.

Hi Val (and the other FIN heroes) - it was definitely challenging! I'm glad the shorter courses seemed easier and pleasant (with plenty of finishers). The longer courses had all the fine rock detail but not the European beech forest which you can stay upright in. Plenty of crawling under and pushing through branches required. I'm guessing the trip onto the open mountain put a few people off, plenty on the Blue seemed to pack it in there.

Absolutely fantastic area, looking forward to going back!
