I couldn't attend the event myself (unfortunately as it is a Christmas tradition by now) but it looks like it was a success.

Re the 236-237 leg, The clockwise route looks the better one to me as it allows plenty of time on road to read the map ahead, at least in theory! (and i think i am now tech-aware enough to contribute a routegadget next time).
