Thanks John, Aidan and Shane and all at 3ROC for a delightfully masochistic day out yesterday. I went out aiming to finish rather than race (and secretly hoping my competition wouldn't turn up) - and 4 hours later I definitely got my money's worth, albeit in last place! However that pales into insignificance with what you all had to put up with - a full day in the misery and still having to collect controls after - so thanks again! I'd love to go back and run the same course again in good visibility. It's one of my favourite areas for orienteering in the country and it's great to see it being used.

All the DNF's are back in the results: I think when we tried sorting the results by class rather than by course for the prizegiving, we lost the course details for the DNF's. We put the course details back in one-by-one so they are there now.

One Routegadget route on Course 2 is a mirror image of what it should be - does anyone have any suggestions as to what went wrong? One suggestion is that the time on the watch was wrong. The GPX file in Strava only has position, not time.

Any ideas? (This has been fixed. One issue was that the GPS didn't locate the start and finish correctly n the map but when the start and finish from the GPS were put in the right place on the map it was fine).

Now, however, there are two RG files - the first has only the finishers and about 20 routes, the second has everyone in the results but only 1 route so far, so you choose which one would like to put your route on, or - better still - do two uploads.

Here are some photos from the event taken by Lindie Naughton.

That was great fun, thank you all!

Good place to practice collecting features in low visibility! I'm looking forward to the next open mountain event!  Thanks also for the loan whistle and safety bearing.

Is there any way to update the results page to link to the second RouteGadget (with all the results)? If not, if anyone else is uploading routes make sure you select the RG from this link rather than from the results page: https://www.orienteering.ie/gadget/cgi-bin/reitti.cgi

Also, I've been having similar issues with the GPS upload (not just for this event). Setting the offset to -199 minutes helps a little but the only way I could get the track uploaded properly was to change the calibration option to 'manual' (instead of 'splits based') and drag the three blue boxes into position. It's still out by a few metres but nothing like the 13k I covered on the day itself!

Interesting, I had thought my RouteGadget upload issues were personal to me. On Sunday I uploaded my file as soon as the first link was avaiable and I had to fiddle with the time slider and dragging blue dots to get it to be mostly correct.

Today I uploaded the same file to the second RouteGadget link and it was immediately perfect, no tweaking needed. (I uploaded twice because I want that wonderful epic to be preserved for all eternity).
