The first of three Phoenix Park Tuesday evening events is on Tuesday August 6th at the Papal Cross. The events will follow the same format as the recent Dublin parks series - three courses of about 2, 4 and 6 km. Pre-entry for the three events is open until the evening before each event here. There will be entry on the day as well, up to the limit of printed maps.
The events are aimed mainly at introducing orienteering to newcomers.
Start times are 6 to 7 pm. There is a new Dublin Bus service (Route 99) from Heuston Station to the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre every 30 minutes which will bring you close to the start. There are portaloos at the Papal Cross car park.
The following Tuesday, August 13th, the event will be near the Magazine Fort, inside the Islandbridge gate.
The final event, on Tuesday August 20th, will be near the Furry Glen/Knockmaroon gate.
