Catching Features- Home Internationals

Catching Features Home International is kicking off this Saturday 4th July , with virtual orienteering at it’s best!

Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland have each selected a team of six to balttle it out over two rounds to be crowned the Virtual Orienteering Home Nation Champions.

Round One is an individual competition with the top three results counting, starting directly afterwards there will be a relay event with a team of three. Scores from both rounds being added together to get an overall result.

The Irish Team

  • Laurence Quinn
  • Jonny Quinn
  • Colm Moran
  • Cillin Corbett
  • Ruairi Short
  • Conor Short

The team was selected following a virtual selection race last week. The team are all very strong in the real forest so let’s hope they will continue their promising orienteering careers online too!

Live Streaming with commentary on Twitch TV from 7-8.30 pm. You can find the link here.

The teams can be followed on social media platforms: Facebook and Twitter. We’d love to see you cheering on Team Ireland, so tag your own social media with your pictures of support, use the hashtag #lockdownorienteering and tag IOA social media too!

I have been reliably informed that the Irish team will be wearing a full Irish Home international kit designed for the event, so tune in to see the team in action.

Catching Features is an online orienteering game which can be used for both pleasure and as a learning tool as part of an orienteering training programme. More information can be found on their website here.

Thank you to Mick Farrell (CNOC) for providing us with details.
