Aidan McCullough – 3 Roc Orienteering Club

What is your first Orienteering memory?

Falling over in the 2011 JK Mini-Relay immediately after tearing my map in half!

What is your favourite terrain?

I’m a big fan of alpine forests like the ones near Aix-les-Bains. Either that or urban like London city or Venice, nice technical urban areas are always good.

What do you think is your best distance/discipline?

Sprint. Absolutely. Don’t know why I just think it’s great it’s just so high paced and needs quicker decision making

What was your favourite event so far?
Oringen 2017 on Arvika was great. It was just so different from anything I’d done before. It was my first time in Scandinavia and I loved it.
What was your first event in the Green Jersey?

JHI 2014 in Oban in Scotland. Had some pretty bad races but I did enjoy it.

What do you like to eat pre race?

I am partial to the odd bowl of Corn Flakes!

What is your favourite bit of O clothing?

The French training top I got in Slovakia at EYOC in exchange for an Irish T-shirt that was about 18 sizes too big.

I’m not sure if Cornflakes will be on offer in Belarus so I hope Aidan packs a box with him!
