Sport Ireland National Development Officer Conference
A hugely successful inaugural Sport Ireland National Development Officer Conference took place in Dublin on 8/9 June, which was attended by Orienteering Ireland’s coordinators Déirdre Ní Challanáin and Mark Stephens. They were part of a 160 strong delegate from National Governing Bodies, and Local Sports Partnerships from across Ireland, where the real focus over the duration of the conference was on collaboration and making connections. Presentations showcased the successes of previous and ongoing collaborations, highlighted promoting diversity and inclusion in sport, gave an insight into a new data evaluation dashboard being developed by Sport Ireland, and got delegates learning and thinking about programme design. Well done Sport Ireland for hosting this innovative conference and we look forward to continued collaboration work between Orienteering Ireland and other sporting organisations in the country.
