Entries for the Leinster Orienteering Champs are now open on Fabian 4. The competition, hosted by Great Eastern Navigators, will take place at Mall Hill on Sunday April 9th. Full details can be found at https://genloc2017.wordpress.com.
Deadline for cheapest entry rate is on 19/03/2017, with final deadline for championship entries on 3/4/2017.  Entry on the day will be available for  yellow, orange, light green and red colour courses.
On Saturday 8th April Setanta Orienteers will host a Sprint event in Massey’s Wood, Co Dublin. Proceeds are going to the Irish Junior Squad so it is hoped that orienteers would make a weekend of it.

Are the M16's and M55's really running on a 1:15,000 scale map when the W16's and W55's are on 1:10,000?

I saw that John, but also read provisional so trust that it will broadly follow previous years. Don't think I'd enter if M45 is 1:15,000. Cue the other M45s demanding 1:15!

Angus,

I'm also M45 - for another year.  I lost my previous set of glassses in a forest in Connacht and then invested in varifocals as I was tired of changing glasses, one for reading the map, one for running.  1:4000 is good for me and if go by previous results my usual 3 and 3/4 hours will be six.  I think I need to also rethink the garmin battery life too!  I look forward to the forest sprint - this scares the living bejaysus out of me.
